Chinatown Escape

Take a day to explore the cuisine and culture of L.A. Chinatown. It’s a short ride on Metro Gold Line from Union Station. Discover the region’s tastiest dim sum, then stroll through the many shops.


  1. Take a moment to visit L.A. Union Station on your way to the Metro Gold Line! The station opened in 1939, and is the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States.

  2. Take Metro Gold Line north one stop to the Chinatown Station. You'll be in the heart of this historic center of culture. Stroll one block west to Broadway and begin your adventure.

  3. Be sure to stop at Chinatown Central Plaza at Broadway and College Street. The plaza is great for sight-seeing and taking plenty of Instagram photos. Be sure to enter yours in our photo contest.

  4. Looking for that perfect spot for dim sum? If you don’t already have a favorite, try Golden Dragon Restaurant on Broadway, one block north of the Plaza.

  5. Hop back on the Metro Gold Line at the Chinatown Station. When you return to Union Station be sure to leave time to pick up something refreshing to drink for the ride home at Barista Society.
