A Critical Link

Add capacity to SR-91, beginning at SR-55 to I-15 in Riverside County.

 

More Lanes

This project will add capacity and deliver operational improvements to the SR-91.  The project calls for adding new lanes, making operational improvements and improving traffic management strategies and maximizing use of freeway infrastructure.

 

Major project elements and traffic management strategies include:

  • Adding four new lanes between SR-241 and Riverside County
  • Adding reversible lanes
  • Building elevated sections
  • Improving connections to SR-241 Toll Road

Status of Projects

  • Three projects improving connectivity between Orange & Riverside counties moving forward
  • Construction to start in mid/late 2009 for westbound lane between SR-241 and SR-71
  • Environmental studies being conducted westbound and eastbound lane between SR-55 and SR-241
  • Riverside County Transportation Commission conducting environmental study for new lanes from SR-241 to I-15
