This project will add capacity and deliver operational improvements to the SR-91.  The project calls for adding new lanes, making operational improvements and improving traffic management strategies and maximizing use of freeway infrastructure.

Major project elements and traffic management strategies include:

• Adding four new lanes between SR-241 and Riverside County
• Adding reversible lanes
• Building elevated sections
• Improving connections to SR-241 Toll Road

Status of Projects

• Three projects improving connectivity between Orange & Riverside counties moving forward
• Construction started Nov. 3 2009 on the eastbound lane between SR-241 and SR-71
• Design is underway on the westbound and eastbound lane between SR-55 and SR-241
• Riverside County Transportation Commission is conducting environmental studies for new lanes from SR-241 to I-15
