Santa Ana Freeway (I-5)
Thanks to Measure M, the half-cent sales tax approved by voters in 1990, $1.5 billion worth of improvements have been made to the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) during the past 20 years. The Renewed Measure M (M2) Freeway program promises to earmark another $1 billion for I-5 improvements in central and south Orange County.
The freeway serves thousands of locals and visitors alike as the main route to get to work, home, popular beach communities and entertainment venues. Residents, businesses and motorists will see enhancements to the I-5 which add extra carpool and general purpose lanes, redesign on- and off-ramps, improve overall traffic flow, and relieve traffic choke points.
