To receive valuable feedback from the San Clemente community, the outreach team working on the Pico to San Juan Creek, San Diego Freeway (I-5) South County Improvement Project hosted its first quarterly stakeholder working group meeting last Wednesday.

ORANGE – The OCTA project outreach team joined more than 30 San Juan Capistrano residents for a discussion on the impact of freeway improvement projects on equestrian activities.

Construction crews reopened the eastbound Lakeview on-ramp to make commuting easier for those traveling along the Riverside Freeway (SR-91).

ORANGE – With the start of the New Year, construction crews are making progress on reconstructing  both the Seal Beach Boulevard bridge and the southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) connector to the eastbound Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22).

ORANGE – Nighttime closures this week are scheduled Tuesday, December 4 through Saturday,December 8.

ORANGE – The long-awaited road extension over the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) connecting the Anaheim Resort District and Platinum Triangle finished construction this month.

ORANGE – People headed to Thanksgiving feasts will enjoy a more relaxed commute as construction closures throughout the county will be postponed for the holiday weekend.

OCTA Deputy CEO Darrell Johnson met with more than 60 members of the Orange County Association of Realtors last Friday to share multiple South County and OCTA improvement projects underway in the area.

Portions of the westbound SR-22 and I-405 freeways will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Friday, between Valley View Street and Studebaker Road. Specific dates and times are listed here.

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday there are no closures scheduled Wednesday, November 21 through Sunday, November 25. Nightly closures will resume Monday, November 26.

Portions of the westbound SR-22 and I-405 freeways will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Friday, between Valley View Street and Studebaker Road. Specific dates and times are listed below. 

ORANGE – Placentia Avenue will be closed for 10 days beginning this Friday to allow construction crews to shift the railroad tracks and prepare for the opening of the new bypass road.

ORANGE – Residents and commuters are invited to a series of public hearings to learn about the San Diego Freeway (I-405) improvement project and provide comments on the draft environmental document.

ORANGE – Drivers heading into Long Beach beginning Saturday morning will have an easier commute as the detour signs are removed and the 7th Street bridge is once again open for business.

ORANGE – As early as Wednesday, Feb. 8, weather permitting, the southbound I-405 Bolsa Chica off-ramp will be accessed from the I-405 mainline.

Currently, the southbound I-405 Bolsa Chica Road off-ramp is accessed from the southbound I-405 to eastbound SR-22 connector. Once the off-ramp is relocated, drivers wishing to access the Bolsa Chica off-ramp will need to stay to the left on the I-405, passing underneath the southbound I-405 / eastbound SR-22 connector. This new off-ramp configuration is permanent and will remain in place.

ORANGE – The Orange Freeway (SR-57) will close in both directions Saturday night as part of the SR-57 northbound improvement project.

ORANGE – Construction crews will completely close the northbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) Saturday night, and continue nighttime closures for three to four weeks, weather permitting.

ORANGE – Relief is on the way for commuters traveling on the Orange Freeway (SR-57) as the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) start work on a new lane that will help improve traffic on one of the busiest stretches of the freeway.

ORANGE – The Santa Ana (I-5) Gateway Project that widened the last two miles of the I-5 near the Orange County line was named Freeway Project of the Year by the California Transportation Foundation.

ORANGE – Westbound access into Long Beach from the 7th Street Bridge will be closed beginning the week of April 18 as construction work gets under way on that portion of the West County Connectors project.
