Improving the environment & the quality of life in Orange County

Join an Existing Vanpool

Let someone else fight the traffic while you read, chat, or catch a few winks. Vanpooling is a great way to commute to Orange County and OCTA helps keep the costs down with a $400 monthly subsidy for qualified vanpools.

Vanpools receiving OCTA incentives are open to the public. You can join a vanpool when the following criteria match the vanpool:

Work Hours

The vanpool driver is a commuter just like you. Since they have to be at work during certain hours, the vanpool won’t work for you if you need to get to work earlier or if you need to stay at work later.

OCTA vanpools are available to commuters who work in Orange County.

Origins

It’s ideal to find a vanpool coming from your city, but vanpools usually have meeting spots along the route to work where passengers are picked up so also look at the cities along your route to work to see if you find a match.

Destination

Your worksite doesn’t have to be the same but should be a neighbor to the worksite listed.

If you find a vanpool that looks like it will work for you, call or email the contact listed to ask if a seat is available. The contact will be able to tell you the monthly cost to join and answer any questions you have about the operation of that vanpool. If there is not a seat available at this time, ask to be contacted when a seat becomes available.
