Where are you headed today? Chances are there is an OCTA bus stop within easy walking distance! So why not take the bus. It is easy, inexpensive and you can enjoy the trip instead of worrying about traffic or the cost of gas. For those who are new to getting around Orange County on an OCTA bus, here are some quick steps to get you up and riding.
- Find Your Route. The best place to start is our system map. Simply locate your starting point and end destination then look for the route that will get you there.
- Plan Your Trip. With a route in mind you can plan your trip using JustClick, our online trip planner, or with our eBusbook where you can print a personalized booklet with just the routes and maps you need.
- Pick How You'll Pay. Determine how you will pay for your trip. You can always pay for individual trips when you board the bus, but you will save more money if you buy a pass. Our Fares and Passes section spells out all your options.
A Step-By-Step Guide
We know that sometimes things seem more complicated than they really are! Riding an OCTA bus is simple. Here is a step-by-step guide on how start riding.
Swipe and go
Use your pass just like a credit card. Simply swipe it through the farebox slot on the bus and you’re good to go. If you want to use cash, have your exact fare ready when you board the bus. The farebox doesn’t give change, or accept pennies.
