    Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Solar Decathlon is coming to the Orange County Great Park in Irvine from Oct. 3 to 6 and Oct. 10 to 13. Visitors can tour solar-powered houses designed and built by collegiate teams from across the U.S. and around the world. Along with XPO, a clean energy exposition, the Solar Decathlon is expected to attract 100,000 visitors. This is the first time since its debut that the event has been held outside of Washington, DC.

    For the first time since its debut in 2002, the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon is being held outside of Washington, D.C. The West Coast venue, where visitors can tou rsolar-powered competition houses designed and built by collegiate teams from across the U.S. and around the world, is being held at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine. Along with XPO, a clean energy exposition, the Solar Decathlon is expected to attract 100,000 visitors from Oct. 3 to 6 and Oct. 10 to 13.

  • OCTA Roadeo Team Places Third at Grand Championship

    The OCTA 2013 International Bus Roadeo Maintenance Team placed third out of 32 teams in this year's American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Grand Championship. The competition took place on May 4 and 5 in Indianapolis and included 32 maintenance teams, 50 coach operators and 31 agencies. This is the first time an OCTA team has finished in the top three at the International Roadeo.
