Orange County Transportation Authority


OCTA’s Grants Department is responsible for developing and maintaining a competitive and proactive grant funding program that is responsive to the needs of the OCTA. These efforts include maximizing funding opportunities from all grant resources, promoting the favorable formulation of grant-related legislation and rule making, and serving as the OCTA’s primary point of contact with funding agencies. The department is responsible for timely grant applications, performance of awarded grants, and the responsible use of grant revenues. Grants staff also assists in the development and oversight of grant-related projects and programs to help OCTA achieve its goals of delivering effective transportation solutions and enhancing the quality of life in Orange County.

Goals: Fiscal Year 2014-2015

  • Continue to pursue grant opportunities seeking the widest feasible sources for OCTA transportation initiatives and match grant programs with OCTA activities and needs.

Accomplishments: Fiscal Year 2013-2014

  • Successfully developed over $238 million in grant requests from a variety of federal, state, and local sources. Of these requests $9 million were pursued through competitive grant programs. Over $124 million in grants have been awarded for fiscal year 2013-14.
