Orange County Supervisor, 3rd District

Director Todd Spitzer is a former California State Assembly Member and is currently serving as the Third District Supervisor for the County of Orange.

One who has dedicated his career to public service as a former high school teacher, police officer and prosecutor, Director Spitzer knows the challenges facing everyday people. First elected to public office in 1992, he has a long record of advocating for public safety and led the successful campaign to pass Marsy’s Law for All, the nation’s most comprehensive victims’ Bill of Rights.

Director Spitzer sought his current office, Supervisor for the Third District, in order to address jobs and economic development in Orange County, maintain public safety and improve accountability in government spending.

Director Spitzer also focuses his public career in solving the county’s DUI Crisis. Orange County currently ranks second in DUI arrests statewide. Director Spitzer has held numerous summits and public forums involving stakeholders including public health experts, law enforcement and groups such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Director Spitzer has been the recipient of numerous recognitions for his service. In 2005, Crime Victims United of California named Assemblyman Spitzer "Legislator of the Year." In 2004, the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault named him its "Legislator of the Year," citing his extensive work with Megan’s Law and his dedication to protecting victims of sexual assault.
