Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP)

The Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) is a capital listing of all transportation projects proposed over a six-year period. Projects include highway improvements, transit, rail and bus facilities, high occupancy vehicle lanes, signal synchronization, intersection improvements, freeway ramps, etc. The OCTA FTIP database, includes all projects that are deemed regionally significant, regardless of the funding source and allow local agencies access to view and amend their projects.

All local agency projects must be carried over to the 2019 FTIP by November 1, 2017.

All City Council or Board resolutions are due January 31,2018.  A template of the resolution is available in the links below.

The Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) is the primary means of implementing the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and includes regionally significant projects funded with state and federal funds. The base FTIP is updated every two years and the 2019 FTIP covering Fiscal Years 2018-19 through 2023-24 is coming up.  OCTA is requesting that agencies verify that their projects are up-to-date and add any new projects.

To assist the local agencies with the FTIP process, OCTA is holding three training workshops.  The workshops will include an overview of the FTIP and step-by-step instruction on using the OC Fund Tracker database.  Due to the limited spaces available, registration will be on a first come first serve basis and limited to two per agency.  Any additional attendees will be placed on a standby list.  Please choose from the following dates:

Wednesday October 4, 2017 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM
Thursday October 5, 2017 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM
Tuesday October 10, 2017 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM
Tuesday October 17, 2017 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM

Before you attend a session, please create a username and password with the OC Fund Tracker database system.  If you are a new user or have forgotten your username and/or password, please click HERE to register.  Please bring this information with you to the training session.

The Workshops are not mandatory but updating the current information in the FTIP is required for all agencies with projects.

Workshops will be held at the following address:

Room 240 – OCTA IS Training Room
600 S. Main Street
Orange, CA 92863

Please check in at the front desk on the first floor to receive a visitor badge and wait for an OCTA employee to escort you to the 2nd floor.
