Serving the Community of Talega
Running seven days a week, Route 693 offers Talega area residents a safe and convenient way to travel from their community to Plaza Pacifica in San Clemente.
Catch the Metrolink in San Clemente
From Plaza Pacifica, Talega area residents can connect with Route 193 and ride to the San Clemente Metrolink station weekdays or on weekends. With Metrolink Weekends service, residents can open the doors to new adventures with travel north to Fullerton or Los Angeles and south to Oceanside via Metrolink.
Ride to the Beach, Shopping or Classes
Route 693 can take residents to connections with Route 191. This is a convenient way to get to the beach at San Clemente Pier or to Capistrano Beach in Dana Point. Route 191 also offers service to the shops at Mission Viejo and Saddleback College.
Great for ACCESS-eligible riders, too
Route 693 is a great way for ACCESS riders to get around. ACCESS is OCTA's shared-ride service for people who are unable to use the regular, fixed route bus service because of functional limitations caused by a disability. (These passengers must be certified by OCTA to use the ACCESS system by meeting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) eligibility criteria.)
Route 693 runs as a deviated service. With this type of service, the bus can deviate up to a maximum of ¾-mile on either side of the fixed route alignment to pick up or drop off ACCESS-eligible riders from their point of origin. ACCESS-eligible riders must call the ACCESS call center, during call center hours, up to 7 days before their trips to make both their pick-up and drop-off reservations. Drop-offs and pick-ups will be scheduled around the fixed Route 693 schedules. Reservations are not required for passengers to board or alight the bus at one of the regular posted bus stops along the route.
Fare for this deviated service is $2.25. If the rider will be transferring to an ACCESS bus at Plaza Pacifica, there will be no additional charge. If the rider will be boarding a regular, fixed route bus at Plaza Pacifica, the rider can request a Senior/Disabled Day Pass, free of charge. If the rider is at Plaza Pacifica coming from a fixed route bus, the rider would need to pay $2.25 if the rider wanted the vehicle to deviate off the route for a drop-off. If the rider is coming from an ACCESS vehicle and already paid an ACCESS fare, the rider would not be required to pay $2.25 if he or she wanted the vehicle to deviate for a drop-off.
